Lender-issued guarantee that can substitute for cash EMD on high-value auction lots.
Some bank auctions accept a bank guarantee (BG) in lieu of cash EMD for lots above a threshold (typically INR 1 crore reserve). The BG must be from a scheduled commercial bank, valid for at least 6 months, and unconditional. Verify acceptance with the auctioning bank before relying on a BG.
